This is a collection primarily of dry mats concerning Clarence D. Martin's campaign for Governor of Washington in 1932. A dry mat is a way to make a dry mold of an impression from relief plates and forms for printing photographs and type. The collection contains an 8 x 6 inch metal plate for 3 photographs of Clarence D. Martin; 16 dry mats of photographs that were used for the campaign; 4 newspaper clippings of some of the dry mats and a 6 x 6 inch metal radiator emblem that states "Martin for Governor" with his portrait on it.

Clarence Martin was the first native son of Washington to become its governor. He wan born in Cheney in 1886 and graduated from Cheney Normal School in 1903.
